Why Landscapes Fail

The failure of trees and plants in a landscape is a serious concern to many parties. Whether the client is the landscape architect, landscape contractor, maintenance contractor or developer/owner, answers and solutions are expected to the complex problem of plant failures. The client turns to you, the Landscape Architect. Answers are not always easily discovered as they relate to causation, no known causation means no known solutions. Treatment without diagnosis is negligence. The landscape architect is able to defer to the expertise of the consulting arborist for diagnostic assessments.

Qualifications

Joe is licensed by the Bureau of Entomology, State of Florida. As such he is legally enabled to identify pest causes of plant and tree problems and failures and to make prescriptive recommendations for solutions.

Trade Accomplishments

Joe's expert witness testimony based upon forensic discovery demonstrated that an urban tree that fell in 1995, killing a woman, actually suffered structural compromise in 1976.

He reduced a $30 million product liability damage claim to an undisclosed six figure number by utilizing arboreal forensic discovery.

He provided the professional diagnosis and implemented the cure strategy to restore the trees and plants to a vigorous growing condition at Florida's Botanical Gardens when they were in a state of decline.

He provided the horticultural consulting and expertise for the winner of the 2006 Parade of Homes, Best of Show, for the $2.5 million model home category.
